

Are-Ekiti Community School
The Tunji Olowolafe Foundation (TOF), in collaboration with the Are-Ekiti Progressive Union, is developing a state-of-the-art public secondary school complex in Are-Ekiti. This project includes the construction of an ICT building and aims to provide high-quality education to the community. The school is envisioned as a model institution, striving to become an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and potentially the Diploma Programme (DP) in the future.
AGILE Projects in Are-Ekiti
The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, supported by the World Bank and the Federal Ministry of Education, is actively providing secondary education opportunities for adolescent girls in Are-Ekiti. This initiative is currently supporting both public and private institutions, including God’s Heritage Academy and Are Afao Comprehensive High School, ensuring greater educational accessibility for young girls in the region.
Are-Ekiti ICT Centre Curriculum Framework
TOF is dedicated to enhancing digital literacy in the Are-Ekiti community. The ICT Center will provide a structured curriculum across three levels: Foundation (beginner), Intermediate (developing skills), and Advanced (specialized training). The curriculum will integrate local content, promote entrepreneurship education, and offer industry certifications. TOF is collaborating with partners like Synthesis, an AI-driven tutor, to enhance digital classrooms. Additionally, the school and ICT center will be equipped with Starlink internet for high-speed connectivity.
IB African Education Festival Participation
TOF sent two representatives to the International Baccalaureate (IB) African Education Festival in Rwanda on February 14-15, 2025. This initiative aims to explore potential collaborations, learn from best practices, and enhance global networking in education. The festival will provide insights into international-mindedness, inquiry-based learning, and the IB learner profile.
University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) Sponsorship for International Conferences
Similarly, TOF has agreed to fund 40 academic staff members at UNILORIN for international conference participation in 2025, with a total allocation of N200 million. The program ensures beneficiaries submit post-conference reports, with funds managed through the university’s bursary unit for accountability.
Ekiti State University (EKSU) Sponsorship for International Conferences
TOF is providing sponsorship grants for up to 30 academic staff members at Ekiti State University (EKSU) to attend international conferences in 2025. Each grant is valued at N5 million, totaling N150 million. This initiative aims to enhance research capabilities and global engagement.
Aaztek Mentorship Program for Engineering Students
In collaboration with Aaztek Intelligent Systems Limited, TOF is supporting a mentorship program for engineering students at EKSU. This initiative will provide hands-on training in Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) engineering. Students will gain industry exposure, financial support, and potential employment opportunities with Aaztek.
National Talent Export Programme (NATEP) at EKSU and UNILORIN
NATEP, a federal initiative aimed at positioning Nigeria as a global hub for service exports, is collaborating with TOF to establish Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) centers at EKSU and UNILORIN. These centers will:
– Generate revenue for the universities.
– Create employment opportunities, with salaries ranging from $300 to $500 per month.
– Offer upskilling and mentorship for workers.
– Provide revenue for state governments through PAYE taxation.
The BPO centers will be equipped with high-performance computing infrastructure to facilitate remote work opportunities for Nigerians.
